Friday 21 September: 13:00-14:30 / Aperture Panel: Elements of Style
Alistair O’Neill (Professor of Fashion History and Theory, Central Saint Martins) in conversation with Awol Erizku (visual artist), Chiara Nonino (Editor, Vogue Italia) and Lou Stoppard (independent writer and curator).

Join leading photographers, writers and editors as they discuss the evolving language of fashion photography and how it can address complex questions of representation, from colonial legacies to queer histories, and other concerns beyond the sartorial.

Saturday, September 22nd, 13:00-14:30 / Aperture Presents: Film & Photo
David Campany (Writer, Curator and Artist) in conversation with Wendy McMurdo (Visual Artist) and Paulien Oltheten (Visual Artist)

Starting in the early twentieth century, photography and the moving image have an intimate and intertwined history as filmmakers and photographers drew inspiration from one another. Witness a conversation between artists that utilise both mediums, as they delve into the symbiotic relationship between the two most influential mediums of contemporary art.

Sunday, September 23rd, 13:00-14:30 / Aperture Presents: Pictures in Print
Michael Famighetti (Editor, Aperture magazine) in conversation with Paul Gorman (writer), Veronica Ditting (Art Director, The GentleWoman) and Salvatore Vitale (Editor, YET magazine).

How does magazine design help create a meaningful conversation around images? How do art directors and editors create compelling contexts for photography? These questions form the starting point for this discussion on contemporary magazine design and photography.
