3-7 June – Art professionals from Germany
In collaboration with the Embassy of the Netherlands in Berlin and the Netherlands consulate in Bonn a group of art professionals from different cities in Germany will take part in the Mondriaan Fund visitors program. The group will visit different artists, museum and institutions in the Netherlands.
Curator and researcher at S A V V Y Contemporary Berlin and is part of the participatory archive project Colonial Neighbours.
She received her MA in Postcolonial Cultures and Global Policy at Goldsmiths University of London and moved to Berlin in 2013. In her work within the permanent collection of SAVVY Contemporary she looks for colonial traces that are manifested in our present. In close collaboration with artists, initiatives and activists, the archive is activated through hybrid forms of practice. Most recently, she assisted the management for the documenta14 radio program – Every Time a Ear di Soun, SAVVY Funk in Berlin (June – July 2017). Lynhan supported the artist Bouchra Khalili with several projects and exhibitions (May 2015 – May 2016) and worked on a year long research project in collaborations between SAVVY Contemporary and the Maerzmusik festival (Berliner Festspiele, March 2017-2018). She currently supported the production of Agnieszka Polska´s new commission for the recent Germany’s National Gallery Prize show in the Hamburger Bahnhof in Berlin (September 2018–March 2019).
Director of the Dortmunder Kunstverein
Oriane Durand is a curator, art historian and author. From 2010 to 2014 she worked as a curator at the Kunstverein Nurnberg. In 2014 she moved to the Bonner Kunstverein, where she curated among others the solo exhibitions by Klaus Merkel, Raphaela Vogel and Jonathan Binet. Since July 2015 she is director of the Dortmunder Kunstverein. Her program attests to an interest in artistic positions that reflect our technological, globalized society and develop alternative scenarios.
Artistic director KAI 10 | ARTHENA FOUNDATION, Düsseldorf
Julia Höner studied aesthetics and cultural studies in Hildesheim and London. After working as assistant curator at Städtische Galerie im Lenbachhaus in München and research assistant at European Kunsthalle in Cologne she started working at KAI 10 | ARTHENA FOUNDATION in 2018. Amongst others, she has curated the exhibitions The Stubborn Life of Things, Less is a Bore, Affect Me. Social Media Images in Art and The Body in Pieces at KAI 10. She worked as a member of the expert panel for Kunststiftung NRW´s Junge Szene and is frequently lecturing at the University of Applied Science in Düsseldorf in the Master program Culture, Aesthetics and Media.
Clare Molloy works as a curator and is interested in sculpture, poetry, the critical potential of art’s liveness and performance practices in their many guises. In 2018 she joined the Gropius Bau as a Curatorial Fellow. Read an interview with Clare Molloy here (in Dutch).
At the Gropius Bau she has worked on the exhibitions Covered in Time and History: The Films of Ana Mendieta, Lee Bul: Crash, and the group show And Berlin Will Always Need You, as well as the In House: Artist in Residence programme, which began with Wu Tsang and continues this year with Otobong Nkanga.
This year her independent projects include Stefanie Kägi and Selina Reiterer, soft skills / solid solutions at Kunstraum Engländerbau, Vaduz and the forthcoming new commission by Peter Cant and Krzysztof Honowski, And Now The Screen Is Struck By Lightning at TROPEZ, Berlin.
Previously she was the 2015 KADIST Curatorial Fellow and created three projects with Otobong Nkanga during that year: she worked on the exhibition Crumbling Through Powdery Air at Portikus, Frankfurt; curated Comot Your Eyes Make I Borrow You Mine at KADIST, Paris; and was a Research Curator for Diaoptasia at Tate Live Performance Room. Subsequently she co-edited the first monograph on Nkanga’s work, Luster and Lucre, published by Sternberg Press, 2017. Clare holds a BA in English Literature from Durham University and an MA in Curatorial Studies from the Städelschule and Goethe University in Frankfurt.
Moritz Scheper is a writer and curator based in Essen, where he works as artistic director at Neuer Essener Kunstverein.
Programm manager, Berliner Festspiele / Immersion
Adrian Waschmann is dramaturg to the federally-funded program “Immersion” at Berliner Festspiele and within this program also holds the position of head of programming to “The New Infinity. New Art for Planetariums”. “The New Infinity” premiere last year on Mariannenplatz in Berlin during Berlin Art Week and will premiere this year’s edition at Planetarium Hamburg in co-operation with International Summerfestival Kampnagel.
The Berliner Festspiele are part of the Kulturveranstaltungen des Bundes in Berlin GmbH. The KBB is a company encompassing the institutions Berliner Festspiele, Gropius Bau, Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW) and the Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale). These institutions make the KBB to one of Germanys central players in the field of culture. The KBB develops and stages a program that is unique – it ranges from film, to concerts, theater, exhibitions, performances, music and education programs. The KBB creates a forum for the arts and critical debates. The company is funded by the Federal Commissioner for Culture and Media.
Adrian Waschmann has previously worked at Haus der Kulturen der Welt (Berlin), Museum of Modern Art (New York City) and Goeth-Institut Bogotá (Colombia).
He holds a BA in European Studies, Art History and Latin American Studies from Universiteit van Amsterdam and a Master of Arts in “Art & Politics” from Goldsmiths, University of London.
Program coordinator (Department of Visual Arts and Film) at Haus der Kulturen der Welt since November 2017.
She is a cultural manager who previously worked as managing director of the Humboldt Lab Dahlem and the administrative director of ÜBER LEBENSKUNST at the House of World Cultures, both projects were funded by the German Federal Cultural Foundation. From 2008 to 2011 she was the exhibition director of the Temporäre Kunsthalle Berlin, a privately funded institution for contemporary visual art. Nine shows were organized, including Phil Collin’s “Auto Kino” and John Bock’s “Fischgrätenmelkstand”.
Specializing in large-scale cultural projects, she worked in the sponsoring division of the International Film Festival Berlin. In 2007 she worked in the exhibition office of documenta 12 and as project coordinator in the frame of the art and culture program on the occasion of the World Cup 2006.
She studied art history and economics at the HU and FU Berlin.
