Visitors program to German art institutions
The Dutch embassy in Germany has organised a visitors program to Germany from 9 until 13 September, in collaboration with the Mondriaan Fund. Six art professionals from Dutch art institutions will take part in the program. The trip is taking place in relation to a visit by German curators to several Dutch institutions in the context of the Mondriaan Fund’ visitors program, that was organised in the beginning of June.
During the trip a diverse range of institutions will be visited in Düsseldorf, Essen, Dortmund and Berlin. A few examples are: KAI10 | Arthena Foundation, Zero Foundation, Neuer Essener Kunstverein, Kunstverein Dortmund and KW Institute for Contemporary Art. The goal of the trip is the expansion of professionals networks and collaboration between German and Dutch art institutions.
The participants are: Roel Arkesteijn (curator De Domijnen), Valentijn Byvanck (director Marres, Huis voor Hedendaagse Cultuur), Docus van der Made (curator of academic and public programs Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art), Daphne Rieken (curator and editor Extrapool), David Smeulders (curator of education and communication De Appel) and Lua Vollaard (curator Stroom).
Also read the interview with Clare Molloy (curatorial fellow Gropius Bau in Berlin), one of the participants in the visitors program last June: ‘Reflecting developments at an international level is extra meaningful now: we all stand before big questions’.
