Prospects – Mondriaan Fund shows Talent

For the 9th time in a row, the Mondriaan Fund launched the exhibition Prospects – Mondriaan Fund shows Talent at the Van Nelle Factory during Art Rotterdam. The exhibition showed the work of 74 artists from 1 to 4 July 2021. All artists received a financial contribution from the Mondriaan Fund in 2019 to kickstart their career.

The Mondriaan Fund organizes the ‘Prospects’ exhibition each year to give the visibility of starting artists an extra boost. Due to the proximity of Art Rotterdam, art professionals and collectors, but also a wide group of interested parties, have the opportunity to become acquainted with the work of these promising artists.

The exhibition is also an excellent opportunity to show what has been achieved in part thanks to a contribution from the Mondriaan Fund. An Artist Start contribution is intended for starting artists who have been working professionally for a minimum of 1 to a maximum of 4 years. The contribution can be used for anything related to the development of work and art practice, such as research, material, equipment and projects at home or abroad.

Johan Gustavsson was, as in 2020, the curator. Gustavsson is co-director 1646, The Hague; board member of The Naked and Page Not Found and teacher at the KABK.
