Museums and other heritage institutions wishing to embark on a long lasting collaboration involving other heritage institutes and/or social organizations can apply with the Mondriaan Fund for support for collaborative efforts focusing on education, audience outreach, visibility, science, digital opportunities or communal collection policies The Mondriaan Fund can contribute a maximum of 40 percent of the project costs. The grant can also be used for viability studies towards such projects.

Over the last three years eighty projects were supported. These projects are collected on this platform to make them visible for sharing experience and lessons learnt in the heritage field. Applicants are questioned: what are the results and how can these be of assistance to others? The platform also proves the close ties of the partnerships with society in general.

The Museum Collaboration Platform is based on the heritage field’s desire to share experiences in the realm of cooperation. This was expressed during a festive gathering announcing the first round of collaborative projects in the presence of the Dutch Minister of Culture.
