Overview commissioned art projects
Across the Netherlands, more than two hundred publicly accessible art projects have come into being since 2013, through cooperation between artists and every conceivable kind of commissioner, public or private. This platform shows the rich output of commissioning brought about with a contribution from the Mondriaan Fund. It may involve an installation, a sculpture, video work, portraits, or other forms of artworks, with a permanent or temporary character.
With the Grants for Commissioning Contemporary Art, anyone can commission new work: from cultural institutes to, for example, municipalities, housing corporations, hospitals, churches, farms and schools. The Mondriaan Fund can contribute up to a maximum of fifty percent of the project costs.
In 2017, simultaneously with this (up-to-date) overview, the publication De oogst van vier jaar opdrachtgeverschap (The harvest of four years of commissioning) appeared. The publication (in Dutch) can be ordered here.
