Delfina Foundation – Daniel Jacoby

Daniel Jacoby was selected for a work period at Delfina Studio from 25 September until 17 December. Whilst at Delfina Foundation, Daniel experiments with the idea of conspiracy theories as a genre of fiction. In a video made by Delfina, he discusses a series of sculptures, made during his residency and presented in a recent performance, that take inspiration from the shop windows of small family-run businesses and market stalls.

Delfina Studio is one of the studios selected by the Mondriaan Fund for the Artist-in-Residency Grants. An application for an Artist-in-Residency Grant can be submitted by visual artists and intermediaries from the Netherlands. Most of these Artist-in-Residency are linked to national and international initiatives and programmes for artists and intermediaries from all over the world. The aim is to promote the artist’s or intermediary’s development as an artist and professional practice while he/she is working abroad or in different surroundings. In this way, applicants can explore, expand and build up new national and international contacts, networks and markets.
