Falke Pisano – Playground festival
Artist Falke Pisano received a Grant International Presentations for her participation in Playground Festival, a collaboration between M – Museum Leuven and STUK. The festival takes place in Leuven from November 16 until November 19. Pisano will present a performance and installation.
The sculpture WONDER-WHAT-TIME-IT-IS by Pisano is inspired by a short story by the American author Edgar Allen Poe. The story is set in the city of Vondervotteimittiss where life is controlled by a bell tower. One day, an outsider disrupts life in the town. In an installation with projections, images, and sculpture, Falke Pisano reformulates the question ‘What time is it?’ as ‘What is the most important thing right now?’, inspiring you to question not only the time, but also yourself. The spatial sculpture and performance thus reflects on language, thought, and perception, and problematises the idea that language as an expression of thought is detached from culture and history.
Playground is a festival which brings a selected programme of performances by artists who are not bound by a specific discipline. Other participating artists in this edition are: Cécile B. Evans, Helena Dietrich & Janneke Raaphorst, Julien Prévieux, Agnès Geoffray, Benjamin Seror & The Masks, Zhana Ivanova, Naufus Ramirez-Figueroa, Cally Spooner, Dominique Guilliot, Julian Weber, buren, Guy de Cointet, Fabrice Samyn and Meryem Bayram.
