Houd Moed – SIGN
From January 24th to February 21st SIGN in Groningen will display the group exhibition ‘Houd Moed’, comprised of work by Frank Koolen, Thijs Franssen, Rowan van As, Mike Moonen and Vincent Bijleveld. The artists have created work which reacts to both the location as well as each other’s’ work.
In 2014 Thijs Franssen, Mike Moonen, Vincent Bijleveld, Rowan van As and Frank Kooien met each other for the first time thanks to Leerling/Meester, an exhibition by Kunstpodium T in Tilburg. As a start to their cooperation they decided to form joint experiences. By venturing out together and sharing experiences they created a joint history. They started a journey, and that journey became a platform for occurences, conversation, reflections, hassle, new ideas, misunderstandings and solutions. Houd Moed is what has sprung from this collaboration.
SIGN receives a ‘Werkbijdrage Kunstinitiatieven’ from the Mondriaan Fund.
The Mondriaan Fund supports the project Leerling/Meester by Kunstpodium T, which brings together graduating artists from various academies in the Netherlands and abroad, with more experienced peers. This results in a series of exhibitions, wherein students exhibit work together and along with the master-artist.
