The Wolfsonian – Christie van der Haak: More is More
As from December 2nd the façade and lobby of The Wolfsonian in Miami showcase Christie van der Haak’s installation More is More. On the occasion of the major retrospective Modern Dutch Design, which exhibits Dutch art works of the collection of the museum, Van der Haak transformed the iconic art deco building in South Beach with her signature tapestry and batik-inspired patterns. It is the first presentation of Van der Haak in the United States.
With the installation van der Haak connects the exhibition, which has a historical focus, with contemporary Dutch design and mirrors the coexistence of different styles and movements by changing patterns throughout the installation. In combination with nightly projections Van der Haak’s project brings Dutch design to life, among others for visitors of the 2016 Miami Art Week.
The Wolfsonian receives a Grant International Presentations from the Mondriaan Fund for More is More.
