The Turner Contemporary commissioned the Dutch artist Krijn de Koning to create new work for the Summer of Colour Festival in Margate en the Folkstone Triennial. De Koning designed Dwelling, a colourful architectural labyrinthine walkway which was produced and placed in the two different outdoor locations in Kent: Turner Contemporary’s South Terrace, adjacent to the gallery, and within a Victorian grotto on Folkestone seafront. The different locations have a big influence on the work of de Koning, who usually builds structures that are in dialogue with the environment in which they are placed.

The Mondriaan Fund financially supported costs concerning the presentation of the work of de Koning via the grant for international presentations.

Both works are on display until the 2th of November.
