WIELS Brussels – Eglė Budvytytė and Emma van der Put

Visual artists Eglė Budvytytė and Emma van der Put are taking part in the group exhibition Foreign Place, presented by WIELS | Contemporary Art Centre in Brussels from the 17th of June until the 14th of August. Foreign Places brings together eight artists, all formerly in residence at WIELS, whose work builds upon temporary but dedicated ‘acts of attachment’ to a specific or imagined place. The exhibition is curated by WIELS curator Caroline Dumalin and guest curator Grégory Castéra. Every summer WIELS presents a group exhibition with former participants in their artist-in-residence programme with a guest curator, this exhibition is the third in the series.

WIELS is one of the residencies presented by the Mondriaan Fund via the Artist-in-residency Grant for visual artists and art mediators. In 2016, Sara van der Heide and Marije de Wit will be residents in WIELS. The Mondriaan Fund contributed to the participation of Eglė Budvytytė and Emma van der Put in Foreign Place via a Grant for International Presentations.
