After graduating Kobe University of Foreign Studies majoring in International Politics, Baba studied one year in New Zealand and started career as a freelance translator/interpreter. In 2014 she moved to Fukuoka’s rural area called Ukiha City, with a population of 32.000 people. At the City Hall in the Mayor’s office of Ukiha Brand she is working for the international promotion and tourism planning of the city. As part of the policy the city is planning to start residencies engaging with locale crafts.
In collaboration with The Netherlands embassy in Tokyo Mrs. Baba visited The Netherlands were she visited institutions and foundations. The Mondriaan Fund arranged a one day program during her stay visiting different institutions and residency program’s in Amsterdam.
