From November 7 to November 19, the six national cultural funds of the Netherlands will jointly visit the six islands in the Caribbean part of the Kingdom: Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, Saba, Sint Eustatius, and Sint Maarten. This collaborative initiative follows previous visits by the funds, some of which were individual, while others were partly coordinated. During these visits, the funds gained valuable insights into the needs and desires of local creators, institutions, and cultural organizations.
The aim of this joint visit is to share the knowledge and experiences gathered with the stakeholders on the islands. This feedback will be offered through an inspiring program on each island, including a visit to a local cultural institution, individual meetings, and networking events.
During these visits, (potential) applicants will have the opportunity to meet fund representatives and ask questions. Do you work in the arts and culture sector on one of the islands? You may be eligible for funding from one of the national cultural funds.
The networking events will take place on the following dates (Caribbean time zone):
- Thursday, November 7: Sint Maarten, 20:00 – 21:30 at NIA
- Monday, November 11: Sint Eustatius, 17:00 – 18:30 at The Elma Building
- Tuesday, November 12: Saba, 18:00 – 19:30 at Eugenius Johnson Center
- Wednesday, November 13: Curaçao, 17:30 – 19:00 at Teatro Aula Habaai
