Heritage Talent Awards

Since 2017, the Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands has been organizing award ceremonies for young heritage professionals for both the Museum Talent and the Monument Talent of the Year. These are stimulation awards for young professionals up to the age of 31, established by the Minister of Education, Culture and Science. The aim is to put talent within the monument and museum sector in the spotlights.

The Mondriaan Fund financed the heritage talent prizes until 2021 in the context of talent development. In addition, the awards stimulate thinking about knowledge transfer and rejuvenation in the professional field which deals with challenges such as an aging population, innovation and diversity. The award enhances the connection of generations in the heritage sector and generates positive (publicity) attention for cultural heritage and young professionals.

The Mondriaan Fund financed the heritage talent prizes in the context of talent development until 2021: the winner received a personal development trajectory worth 7,000 euros and the 2 other finalists 3,000 euros for a similar trajectory.
