When can you apply for a grant, how does it work and what do you need to be aware of? Especially for students and starting artists, the Mondriaan Fund is organising the Get a Grant event, an information meeting at Art Rotterdam about the grant opportunities for starting visual artists.
The event will take place on Friday 28 March from 5 pm – 6 pm.
During the Get a Grant event, an employee of the fund will tell you about the Artist Start grant and artist Lotte Wieringa will share her experiences in submitting an application. Of course, there will also be room for questions from the audience and we will give tips.

Artist Start grant
The Mondriaan Fund’s Artist Start grant is for artists who have been working professionally for at least 1 to a maximum of 4 years and want to further develop their art practice. Think of creating work, research, experimenting, purchasing materials and equipment. Or working on an assignment or participating in exhibitions and manifestations at home and abroad.
Prospects
From 28 – 30 March 2025, the Mondriaan Fund is organising a new edition of Prospects during Art Rotterdam. The exhibition takes place at the new location Rotterdam Ahoy and shows the work of 116 starting artists. All artists received a financial contribution in 2023 within the Artist Start grant of the Mondriaan Fund to kickstart their career. The 13th edition of Prospects has been curated by curators Johan Gustavsson and Louise Bjeldbak Henriksen. For more info, click here.
