Amal Alhaag is a curator, researcher, and co-initiator/facilitator of several initiatives. This includes Metro54, a platform for experimental sonic, dialogic, and visual culture, and the Side Room: a space for eccentric practices and people, together with her dear friend and artist Maria Guggenbichler. Amal develops experimental and collaborative research practices, public programs, and projects that explore global spatial politics, archives, colonialism, counterculture, oral histories, and popular culture. In 2022, she received the Akademie Kunsten Penning from the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (bio: Framer Framed website).
