HERE: Heritage Reflections

Aram Lee

Job title: Artist Event: HERE 2025 Programme: Alternative forms of restitution, the role of artistic practices in restitution and colonial collections Part of HERE: Heritage Reflections

Aram Lee is a Netherlands-based artist whose practice draws on feminist materialisms and decolonial ecologies to explore the porous relations between human and non-human bodies. Working across performance, film, and video installation, she re-mediates institutional materials to reveal spectral narratives and reimagine cultural structures. Her work has been shown internationally at venues such as the Wereledmuseum Amsterdam, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, Biennale de Dakar, and Haus der Kulturen der Welt. Lee also teaches at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie and Design Academy Eindhoven and co-founded When Site Lost the Plot, a platform in Amsterdam investigating siteless-specific identity through film and media.
