Sang Un Jeon

Sang Un Jeon is the managing director at Platform-L Contemporary Art Center, where he leads his team to organize numerous exhibitions and performance programs. He has been overseeing both managerial and curatorial aspects of running the institution, since its inauguration in 2016.

Prior to joining Platform-L, Sang Un has taught various communication design and multi-media design classes at Hongik University and Kaywon school of art and design, with the experiences of working at numerous design firms based in NYC and Seoul, such as Trollback & Co. and the Lab. He has exhibited his works at exhibitions such as Dynamic Structure and Fluid at Arko Art Center, Seoul International Electronic Music festival at Seoul Arts Center, Unified Flags at Gwangju Design Biennale, Jikji Festival at Cheongju Arts Center , 3dPrintshow and Crystallize New Media Art Lab UK & Korea, in London.

He graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design with MFA in Digital + Media, and from the School of Visual Arts with BFA in Graphic Design. His MFA thesis dealt with the theme of “Tangible Hybrid Culture”, while he also studied multimedia and electronic music experiment in Brown University.

He is currently interested in combining his diverse experiences to run the institution as diverse and unexpectedly clever as possible.

The visit is organized in collaboration with the embassy of the Netherlands in South-Korea.
