Sarah Johanna Theurer is a curator focusing on time-based art practices and techno-social entanglements. She currently works at Haus der Kunst in Munich where she curated the first major survey exhibition by Shu Lea Cheang. She served as lead curator for numerous exhibitions including the live-exhibition with Pan Daijing.Mute, new commissions to Isabelle Lewis, Carsten Nicolai, Jenna Sutela, and WangShui, and co-curated survey exhibitions of Katalin Ladik (2023, with Hendrik Folkerts) and Fujiko Nakaya (2022, with Andrea Lissoni). She has overseen a range of publications, including the first comprehensive catalogue of Nakaya’s work and the first monograph of Pan Daijing. Together with colleagues, she initiated the live program Echoes probing experiential and embodied knowledge production, as well as various projects and symposia on art and technology. Previously, she worked at the 9th Berlin Biennale and transmediale Berlin where she collaborated with a wide range of artists and acted as a dramaturge with performance groups including OMSK Social Club and The Agency. Theurer is the editor of this publication and publishes regularly in catalogues and magazines.
