Steinar Sekkingstad (1978) is an art historian and curator. He has been working at Bergen Kunsthall in Norway since 2006, and in the position as curator since 2009.

He is currently also a member of the expert committee for visual arts at Arts Council Norway. At Bergen Kunsthall he has curated exhibitions with artist such as Haegue Yang (2013), Nick Mauss (2013) Willem de Rooij (2012) and Knut Henrik Henriksen (2012), as well as co-curated numerous exhibitions with directors Solveig Øvstebø (2006-2013) and Martin Clark (2013-2017), including among others: Hemlock Forest, Moyra Davey (2016), All Around Amateur, Fredrik Værslev (2016), Image Support: Lucas Blalock, Marieta Chirulescu, Ann-Cathrin November Høibo, Eileen Quinlan (2016), futurbella, Jean-Michel Wicker (2015), eating or opening a window or just walking dully along, Ane Hjort Guttu (2015), Corruption Feeds, Will Benedict (2014), In The Year of the Quiet Sun, The Otolith Group (2014), Muster, Tone Vigeland (2014). Sekkingstad has edited a number of publications and written about contemporary art for magazines, publications and exhibition catalogues.
