Nora Razian

At the Jameel Arts Centre she oversees the centre’s exhibition and film programme and where she has curated numerous solo and group exhibitions. Previous roles include Head of Programmes and Exhibitions at the Sursock Museum, Beirut, and Curator of Public Programmes at Tate, London.

Her exhibitions include Pacita Abad: I Thought the Streets Were Paved with Gold (2021), Hiwa K: Do You Remember What You are Burning? (2020), Michael Rakowitz (2020) and Phantom Limb (2019) all at Jameel Arts Centre, Dubai, I will return and I will be millions, at Ashkal Alwan’s Homeworks Forum 8, Beirut (2019), and Let’s Talk About the Weather: Art and Ecology in a Time of Crisis (2016/2018) at the Sursock Museum, Beirut and the Guangdong Times Museum, Guangzhou. She has commissioned works by Claire Pentecost, Marko Peljhan, Ahmet Ogüt, Ali Cherri, Adrian Lahoud, Joana Hadjitomas & Khalil Joreige, and Monira Al Qadiri.

She is the commissioner and editor of several publications including Pacita Abad: I Thought the Streets Were Paved with Gold, Sarah Abu Abdallah: For the First Time in a Long Time, and is co-editor of Elements for a World (Sursock Museum, Beirut), a series of 5 publications featuring specially commissioned texts and visual contributions responding to the current climate crisis through scientific, poetic, political, and speculative contributions, and The Future Citizen Guide (Tate, London), a series of contributions by artist and curators exploring changing notions of citizenship.

She has served on the curatorial advisory board for the 59th  Venice Biennial (2022) and sits on several selection committees.
