At the museum Tim oversees all aspects of the museum’s international development strategies and campaigns. With over 20 years of experience in the field, Tim has a proven track record of curation, exhibition development and art institution funding through innovative marketing initiatives. Throughout his career, Tim has successfully launched numerous development campaigns that have led to significant improved institutional credibility within the art world system. In addition to his professional achievements, Tim is an active member of the Chinese art community and has produced many documentaries on Chinese contemporary art.
By Art Matters is a contemporary art museum located in the OōEli complex. It opened to the public on December 25, 2021, designed and built by Renzo Piano Building Workshop with a world-class museum standard. Aside from its permanent collection, the museum will continue to provide exhibition and publication opportunities for artists, to provide a third space for the public outside of everyday living and working, and become a leading atelier of creativity. The museum seeks to become Hangzhou’s first hub of international and domestic art scene, and to deliver momentum and catalyst for sensitivity, research, and artistic practice. It aspires to cultivate the public’s independent aesthetics for contemporary art through diverse exhibitions and public education activities, to bring sensual, intellectual, and spiritual inspirations.
