Sunny Sun, the Director of A4 Art Museum, Vice President of Chengdu Tianfu New Area Talent Development Promotion Association and Chairwoman of the Cultural and Creative Industry and Exhibition Committee of the Talent Development Promotion Association, holds a Master’s degree in International Business Management from the University of Wales, UK. She currently works and resides in Chengdu.

Since 2007, she has been researching, curating, and producing a series of contemporary art exhibitions and related cultural education activities, consistently dedicating herself to discovering new artistic perspectives and emerging artists. In 2008, she initiated the establishment of one of the few non-profit public art institutions in China focused on academic development, art project research, and contemporary art education promotion–A4 Art Museum, where she serves as the Director and Artistic Director. From 2008 to the present, she has curated nearly 80 contemporary art exhibitions, including international contemporary art theme exhibitions, young artist series, and case study series, collaborating with nearly 500 renowned artists and over 40 professional curators both domestically and internationally.

Notable exhibitions include “Parallel Far East Worlds” (2012), “Loop – Photography and Video Experiment of Southwest China Since 2000” (2017), “Martin Boyce: Hanging Gardens” (2018), “Roman Signer: Video & Film 1975-1989 and Now” (2018), “From Streets to Methodology: Performance Art in Southwest Area of China Since 2008” (2019), “Wang Yuyang: Oblivion” (2020), “Parson Bruegger and Margit Lucas: The Real of Unreal ” (2020), “Mark Chagall: Love and Hope” (2021), “Shinjii Ohmaki : The Depth of Light” (2023), and “Chiharu Shiota: Another Planet”(2024), among others.

Sunny Sun is committed to promoting public art education at the museum. She initiated and curated the “iSTART Children’s Art Festival,” which has been successfully held for ten editions. In 2022 and 2023, this project won the “Excellent Public Education Program” award by the National Ministry of Culture and Tourism, gaining widespread social influence. As a cultural strategist, Sunny Sun has spent over a decade building A4 Art Museum into a city-based, ecological art museum with an international management team, a rich academic research foundation, and a variety of experimental public education projects. Today, A4 Art Museum is one of the most important non-profit private art museums in China.
